Spartanburg, S.C. - The Charlotte 49ers women's tennis team lost the closest of matches at Wofford Thursday, 4-3. Charlotte falls to 3-8 on the season, while Wofford improves to 10-1.
Wofford took the doubles point and split the six singles matches, which was just enough to record the victory.

She has won seven of her last eight singles matches and is 12-10 this season, 8-4 since the semester break. Koren Fleming and Candace Cunningham won at number-three and number-four singles. Fleming needed a third set, while Cunningham won in the second set tiebreaker to capture a singles point for Charlotte.
The 49ers host Richmond Saturday in their only regular-season scheduled match against an Atlantic 10 opponent. The Spiders visit the Phillips Tennis Complex for a 2:30 start.
