This is the third time in Ozimek's stellar career that she has earned All-Southeast Region honors

Dec. 17, 2007

Charlotte, NC - Charlotte 49ers women's soccer senior midfielder Lindsey Ozimek was named first-team NSCAA/adidas All-Southeast Region honors. This marks the third time in her stellar career that she has earned NSCAA/adidas All-Southeast Region honors but this is her first first-team selection. She is the 49ers first first-team selection since Courtney Crandell and Jennie Leeder earned the honor in 2002. Crandell, Leeder and Ozimek are the only three players in the program's history to earn first-team NSCAA/adidas All-Southeast Region honors.

Ozimek was named second-team All-Southeast Region last season and third-team All-Southeast Region in 2004.

She was named one of five first-team Lowe's senior All-Americans last week. Ozimek was one of ten finalists for the Lowe's Senior Class Award which is the nation's premier award for NCAA senior student-athletes.

Ozimek was just named first-team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American. Ozimek has been named ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American in each of the last three seasons and has earned first-team honors the past two years.

Ozimek, who has a 4.00 GPA in Special Education, is the second student-athlete in school history to be named ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American three times.

This season, Ozimek helped the 49ers tie the school-record with 16 wins en route to the A-10 regular season and tournament titles and the third NCAA Tournament berth in the program's history. She scored the final goal in her career against Clemson in the NCAA Tournament which moved her into a tie for the team lead in goals with six. She became the first recipient of the A-10 Midfielder of the Year award this season after leading the A-10 with 13 assists. Earlier, this year she became the program's all-time leader in career assists and she finished her career with a 43 assists.
