Charlotte, NC - Men's tennis players sophomore Roy Sichel and senior Zvi Lantsberg earned Atlantic 10 individual honors. Sichel was named the Atlantic 10's most outstanding performer. Lantsberg was named Atlantic 10's student-athlete of the year for men's tennis. Lantsberg, Sichel and junior Dorian Host were named to the Atlantic 10 academic all-conference team.

Sichel became the first men's tennis player in the program's history to earn conference most valuable player honors. He also earned first-team All-Atlantic 10 honors marking the 11th straight season that the 49ers have had at least one player named all-conference. Sichel, who is currently the highest ranked 49er men's tennis player ever at #85 in the latest ITA national rankings, posted three straight sets singles victories at number one singles en route to leading the 49ers to a runner-up finish in the recently completed Atlantic 10 tournament. Sichel posted straight sets wins over fellow All-Atlantic 10 selections George Washington's Mustafa Gencsoy and Richmond's Doug Banker in the tournament. He also teamed with senior Jean-Michel Werk to go 1-1 at number two doubles in the tournament.

Sichel finished the season with the second most singles wins in the program's history with 30 victories. He posted an impressive 19-5 record at number one singles in dual matches. He finished the season on fire by winning his final 11 matches.

Sichel also was one of three men's tennis players to be named to the Atlantic 10 academic all-conference team. The sophomore has a 3.1 GPA in business.

Lantsberg, who is a two-time first-team ESPN The Magazine District III all-region selection, has a 3.88 GPA with a double major in international business and finance. H

The senior saved his best season for his last as he recorded a career-high 17 singles wins, with 12 of those victories coming in dual matches, at number four singles. He finished his career on a high note with a straight sets win over Temple's Matt Struble in the A-10 semifinals. He won seven of his final nine singles matches.

Joining Sichel and Lantsberg on the academic all-conference team was junior Dorian Host, who has a 3.84 GPA in finance.

Host recorded his third straight double-figure singles wins campaign when he finished the season with the third highest total on the team with 13 victories mostly at number three singles. He posted a straight sets win over George Washington's Elliott Daniels in the 49ers A-10 tournament quarterfinals victory.
