Scott Schweitzer is in his fifth season as a member of the Charlotte coaching staff. Before joining the 49ers, he spent two seasons as an assistant at UNC Wilmington. He brings many years of professional soccer playing experience to the Charlotte coaching staff. He began his pro career with the Fort Lauderdale Strikers in the American Pro Soccer League in 1994. In 1995, he played with the Myrtle Beach Boys in the United Soccer League. In 1996, he played with the Cape Cod Crusaders of the United Soccer League. From 1997-99 he played with the Wilmington Hammerheads of the United Soccer League. The past four seasons, he has either played or coached with the Charlotte Eagles. He was part of the Charlotte Eagles coaching staff when they won the 2000 national championship. He has been on the North Carolina ODP staff since 1998. He also was a goalkeeper coach with the Adidas Elite Soccer Player program, 1999-00. He also holds a USSF "A" coaching license.
