Kelly Findley is in his second season as associate head coach and his fifth season as a member of the 49ers coaching staff. Findley came to Charlotte after serving as head coach at Mars Hill for two seasons, 1999-00. He compiled a record of 17-22 in his two seasons at Mars Hill. In 2000, his team compiled a 10-8 overall record and a South Atlantic Conference second-place finish with a 5-2 record. Findley came to Mars Hill from Miami (Ohio) where he was an assistant coach for the 1998 season. Prior to joining the Miami coaching staff, he served two seasons as an assistant coach with the Charlotte Eagles professional soccer team, he helped lead them to two South Atlantic Division Championships, a national runner-up finish, and two playoff appearances. Additional coaching experience included one season as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Judson. Findley enjoyed a successful playing career at Judson College in Elgin, Illinois. He was a three-time NAIA All-American, three-time NCCAA All-American, and two-time NSCAA All-American. Findley was a four-time MVP for Judson, 1990 Athlete of the Year, and three-time Northern Illinois Inter-Collegiate Conference Player of the Year. After his career at Judson, he played professional soccer with the Charlotte Eagles for six years. During his career with the Eagles, Findley was a member of the team that played in two national championship finals, five divisional play-offs, as well as earning three South Atlantic Division Championships. Findley holds a USSF "A" license and a NSCAA Premier Diploma. He also serves as the North Carolina ODP State Team coach. Findley and his wife, Joanne, have a son, Gabriel (4) and two daughters, Elysia (2) and Corinne (8 months).
