The Charlotte 49ers are currently in 11th place, following two rounds of the U.S. Collegiate Championships at the Golf Club of Georgia. The prestigious event, which boasts a field that would counter any national championship field, includes each of the nation's top eight teams and 10 of the top 11.
Southern California currently leads the event at +5, 581, two strokes ahead of Alabama (+7, 583). The 49ers head into Wednesday's final round at +25, 601, one stroke back of Golfweek's #1 ranked Georgia (+24, 600).
Sophomore Corey Nagy leads the 49ers at -1, 143, good for a tie for fifth-place among many of the best collegiate golfers in the country. Senior Jonas Enander Hedin is tied for 41st at +9, 153 followed by Stefan Wiedergruen (+10, 154), Trevor Murphy (+11, 155) and Andrew DiBitetto (+15, 159).
The 49ers shot a 304 on day one but improved to a second-round 297, thanks to improved rounds from Nagy, Wiedergruen and DiBitetto. Nagy shot a second round 71 while Wiedergruen added a 73 and DiBitetto carded a 75.
The third and final round will be played Wednesday. A complete set of tournament results are included in the PDF file at the top of the page.
