Jason Hill now coaches high school ball after spending four seasons on the 49ers coaching staff after a highly successful four-year playing career at Charlotte. While he has been on the coaching staff, three Charlotte position players have gone on to play pro baseball. He developed a Conference USA Freshman of the Year, two players that have earned All-Conference USA honors, and four players that have been named to the All-Conference USA freshman team.

Hill, a West Charlotte High School graduate, enjoyed a successful four-year playing career at Charlotte and he left his name all over the Niners' record book. His 73 career doubles are the second most in school history. His 188 RBI and 269 hits place him fourth in both categories. He connected on 28 career home runs, which is the seventh most in school history. He played in 219 career games which is tied for the fifth most in school history. He scored 161 runs, which places him ninth all-time.

In 1999, as a senior, he led the team in hitting with a career-best .352 average. He also led the team with 20 doubles which ties him for the fifth-highest single-season total in school history. As a junior, he helped the 49ers earn their second trip to the NCAA tournament with 73 RBI, which is the third-highest single-season total in school history. He also set a Charlotte single-season record for at-bats with 258 in 1998.

The Charlotte native played an integral part on two Conference USA Tournament runner-up teams in 1997 and 1998 and a 1998 NCAA regional qualifier.

Hill graduated from Charlotte in May of 1999 with a degree in English. In December, 2002, he graduated with a Master's degree in English from Charlotte.

Hill and his wife, former 49er softball player Janine Repole, have a son, Matthew, and a daughter, Emily.
