Louisville, Ky. - The Charlotte 49ers men's and women's cross country teams wrapped up their 2007 campaign at the 2007 NCAA Southeast Regional Cross Country Championships at the University of Louisville Saturday afternoon. The teams finished 18th and 17th, respectively.
The men's team, anchored by redshirt sophomore Chase Eckard, who finished 45th overall with a time of 31:27.25, combined for a team score of 530. Sophomore Jordan Rickard (97th; 32:33.40) sophomore Alan Ford (103rd; 32:40.15) freshman Dakota Lowery (150th; 34:00.45), sophomore Travis Brotherton (158th; 34:12.30) and sophomore Aaron Kauffman (168th; 34:41.25) rounded out the participating 49er men.
The men's regional title was taken by NC State, who finished with a team score of 69, besting host Louisville (70), William & Mary (74), Virginia (116), Liberty (168) and Clemson (188), who joined the Wolfpack in the top six.
The women's team, once again led by junior Aja Jackson, who finished 54th overall with a time of 21:44.80, combined for a team score of 458. Freshman Amanda Goetschius (72nd; 22;04.90), freshman Keara Thomas (84th; 22:15.85), freshman Laura McCary (129th; 22:58.05), freshman Christina Hobbs (136th; 23:03.05), junior Liana Blue (150th; 23:21.15) and sophomore Justine Thompson (154th; 23:24.35) rounded out the participating 49er women.
