Tim Hall enters his Seventh season with the 49ers track & field programs, and second as associate head coach. His area of expertise is working with the team's sprinters, hurdlers and relays.

During Hall's tenure, the 49ers have repeatedly rewritten the record books and achieved national recognition. In 2006 Hall was recognized as the NCAA East Region Women's Assistant coach of the year for Sprints, hurdles and relays. Hall recognition was the result of the 49ers tremendous indoor season that established the basis for an astonishing outdoor season. Shareese Woods establish herself among the top sprinters in the country by finished 4th in the 400meters at the AT&T USATF Indoor championship in Boston. She followed up that performance by not only qualifying but earning All-American honors at the NCAA indoor Championship placing 11 in the 400 meter and becoming the programs first female sprinter to receive All-American status. N.C. State transfer Courtney Patterson also ran a NCAA provisional qualifying time in the 60m Dash and teammate Lamarra Currie qualified for the USATF Indoor Championship as well. On the men's side, Senior Ben McCallum garnered A-10 championship and runner-up honor indoors in route to a NCAA Provisional mark in the 60 meter dash. Teammate Jason Moore acquired personal best times and A-10 runner-up honors in the short dash as well.

The 49er outdoor campaign was filled with record breaking performances and numerous accolades. Shareese Woods earned her first gold medal in an international competition at the 2006 North America, Central America and Caribbean (NACAC) Under-23 Championships helping Team USA to a meet-record time and the 4x100-meter relay championship. Woods ran the third leg on the United States' championship 4x100 relay team, which finished with a NACAC Under-23 meet record of 43.53 seconds. The previous meet record of 43.62 was set by Jamaica in 2004. Woods ran third, and handed off to anchor-leg runner Shalonda Solomon of South Carolina.

Charlotte had a program record 6 qualifiers representing the 49ers at the NCAA outdoor Championship in Sacramento, CA. The Niners sprinters posted three top-15 finishes at the Championships, including two All-Americans. The 49ers competed in three races, finishing 6th, 11th, and 13th. Charlotte had competitors in two different national championship races. The women's 4x100 relay ran a school record time of 44.44 to place 13th in the nation. Courtney Patterson earned All-American status in the 100m and joined by freshmen teammates Lamarra Currie, Pat Springs and junior Shareese Woods on the 4x100m relay. Charlotte's men sprinters gained regional and national recognition on the 2006 campaign as well. Seniors James Bacon and Ben McCallum along with sophomore Jason Moore and juniors James Hanna and Quincy Smith had compelling performances for the 49er sprinter at the NCAA East Region in Greensboro, NC. James Bacon ran a school record time of 46.75 in the 400m dash. Senior Ben McCallum finished eighth in the 100m dash and was joined by teammates Jason Moore, James Hanna, and Quincy Smith on the school record breaking 4 x 100m relay time of 40.17 earning All- Region honors respectfully. For his efforts in coaching Woods, Patterson and all the 49ers' sprinters, Charlotte associate head coach Hall was named the East Region Outdoor Track Assistant Coach of the Year for sprints/hurdles. The honor was given to just four assistant coaches for sprints/hurdles throughout the entire country (one in each of the NCAA's four regions). 2005 was a particularly good year for the 49ers sprinters.

Derrick Johnson finished ninth in the 60-meter dash at the 2005 NCAA Indoor Championships to earn the program's first-ever sprint event All-America award. He went on to qualify for the NCAA Outdoor Championships as well, finishing 11th in the 100, and was joined by Shareese Woods, who finished 12th in the 200. They both competed at the USA Track & Field Championships as well, while freshman Jason Moore competed in the USATF Junior Nationals.

Also in 2005, eleven sprint-event athletes competed at the NCAA East Regional Championships, a record number. The men's 4x100 relay was eighth to earn All-Region honors. Three sprinters earned All-Conference honors indoors while there were eight all-league awards outdoors. The women set eight school records (four in each season), while there were five records on the men's side.

During the 2004 outdoor campaign, Hall coached five NCAA East Regional qualifiers, one NCAA National qualifier and four Junior National qualifiers. The highlight of the season came at the NCAA East Regional, where the men's 4x100 relay received All-Region honors while posting a school record-breaking performance. Derrick Johnson also received All-Region honors in the 100 and 200 meters, qualifying for the NCAA National Championships in both events. Newcomers to the team boasted an impressive season as well, as four freshmen qualified and participated in the Junior National meet in College Station, Texas. In 2003, Aisha Thomas became the first female sprinter to receive All C-USA indoor honors, placing third in the women's 400. The men's 4x400 relay earned All-CUSA honors, finishing second.

During the 2003 outdoor campaign, senior Aisha Thomas fashioned a school record-breaking performance over 400 meters and qualified for the inaugural NCAA East Region meet in Fairfax, Va. The men's 4x400 relay received all C-USA honors en route to a school record-breaking performance and a NCAA Regional qualifying mark. Two freshmen qualified for the 2003 USATF Junior Nationals, and Ben McCallum be came the second 49er sprinter to earn Jr. All-American status.

During the 2002 indoor campaign, three 49ers earned All C-USA indoor honors. Twann Atkins became the first 49er hurdler to qualify and compete at the USATF Indoor National Championships in New York. The highlight of the season, however, came at the Conference USA Outdoor Championship, where Derrick Johnson was named 2002 C-USA Freshmen of the Year and posted NCAA and USATF qualifying marks in the 100 and 200 meters, respectively.

The 49ers also had representation at the Jr. National level when Michelle Dixon and Bernadette Washington became the first 49er women to compete at the 2002 USA Jr. National in Palo Alto, Calif. Michelle Dixon became the first sprinter to earn Jr. All-American status.

Hall's athletes have also achieved success outside collegiate competition. Sprinter Koiyan Morlu competed for his home country of Liberia at the 2003 World Championships, 2001 World Championships, and the 2000 Olympics in Sydney (4x100 relay).

Prior to joining Charlotte, Hall served as head coach of the Queen City Striders AAU Track Club for six years. In 1995, the Striders earned 36 medals at the AAU Junior Olympic Games. Hall was an assistant track & field coach at Myers Park High School in Charlotte, N.C. In 1995, he was head coach at Hawthorne Jr. High, coaching the Wolf pack to its first undefeated regular season and second place in the city's league meet.

A 1994 graduate of South Carolina State, Hall earned his degree in psychology. A three-time captain of the Bulldogs track team, he earned All-MEAC honors as a senior. Hall holds a Level II coaching certification with specialization in sprints, hurdles, and relays from USATF Coaches Association.

Coach Hall is a native of Charlotte, he and his wife Adrean, have two children, TeAnna and Timothy Jr.
